Can a mounting system cause damage to my roof?
Mounting systems installed correctly do not cause damage to the roof. They spacing of brackets, spreads the weight of the system across a large cross section of the roof area.
A regular solar consumer complaint is damage to the roof tiles during installation or poor quality fitting of mounting systems which can lead to water ingress and substantial damage to the interior of the home.
A subtle detail on roof mounting is also the clean-up, particularly if aluminium rails have been cut to size on the roof, holes have been drilled or tiles have been ground to fit hooks.
Your installer should be able use work methods that can assure you that no foreign particles eg aluminium off-cuts/filings will enter your rainwater collection system and that no corrosion will be caused by off cuts having been left on your metal roof.
